Microspikes may be helpful in the snow.

Poutwater Pond, Hike or Snowshoe. Explore this designated national landmark: a pristine kettle pond where folks rarely venture in winter. This 3 mile round trip hike will ascend 300 feet in elevation through the north Sterling woods, traverse DCR open fields, and terminate at the pond’s bog walk. Snowshoes are available for loan. Nordic skiers are welcome.
